red mail Hearn(e)
I am looking for Norman hearn(e) born May 1932 who lived in Caterham Surrey. After the death of his parents he was cared for by his neighbours, Charles and Florence Brown and their daughter Stella (my mother). My Aunt Sheila, same age as Norman, remembers playing with him. She has a photograph of them playing in the sandpit made by her father. Over the years she has wondered what happened to Norman after his aunt called one day to collect him. She has never heard of him since that day. His father was a captain in the Indian Army. Thank you. Stella

red mail The Cottage, Longmead, Caterham M.D.
I am researching my wife's family history. Her great-grandfather, Clement Parker, died on Christmas day in 1922 in the "meadow at Longmead, Caterham M.D." His address was shown as The Cottage, Caterham M.D. Does Caterham M.D. stand for Caterham Military Depot (or something like that)? My wife's great-grandfather's occupation is shown on his death certificate as gardener (domestic), but he was 76 years old. He'd been a gardener, usually for large estates, his whole life. There was a coroner's inquest as to his cause of death. Can anyone give me further details about The Cottage and/or Longmead Meadow? Are these on a military base? I have looked far and wide for the coroner's records, thus far without success. Any suggestion would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
