red mail George Brown & Lucy Emma Williams
I am trying to find out more information about the UK ancestors I have. George Brown was born in Banstead Surrey 14-Jan-1844, he married Lucy Emma Williams 22-Aug-1869 at St Jude's Church, Upper Chelsea. Before they were married they lived in 15L Sloane Street, Upper Chelsea, in the county of Middlesex on their wedding certificate it stated that George was a painter and Lucy was a domestic servant. Also n their wedding certificate it was stated that George's father was deceased but his name was Matthew Brown and that Lucy's father was James Williams and he was a painter. The witnesses to the marriage were listed as James Williams, William John Walker & Emily Walker. St Jude's Church is close to the Duke of York's Headquarters and an Assylum. They left the UK on the 30th March 1876 from Plymouth aboard the ship "Lightning", it ran aground near the city of Adelaide, in South Australia, on Friday 7th July 1876. They had four children: George Jnr, Charles Ernest & Millicent were born in England, Florence was their only Australian born child. If anyone could help me with any information I would truely appreciate it.
