Farrow
I have an Elizabeth Farrow who married William Parker in 1814 in Chevington. In all census information from 1841 to 1871 she lists her birthplace as Whepstead. Her baptism would be ~ 1793, but I can find no record of her that matches from either parish. Does anybody know if either had non-conformist churches which wouldn't show in the normal parish records? Any help would be really appreciated.
red mail George Garwood of Whepstead
I have traced my great grandfather to Whepstead but am unable to visit Bury St Edmunds to go through the Parish Records. Has anybody researched the Garwoods in Whepstead? George was very erratic in giving his age to the Census Enumerators so I can only give an approximate range. I think he was born between 1818 and 1824. At this time I do not know his father's name as I haven't got a look at his Marriage Certificate. He married Charlotte Rebecca Swannell after leaving the Army sometime in 1858/9. Any news would be most appreciated.
BAILEY - JAMES R (Or K)
I'm looking for any information on James R (Or K - the census handwriting is a bit vague) Bailey who was born in Whepstead, Suffolk about 1860. The 1891 UK census shows him living in Ipswich married to Elizabeth with four children. He was my maternal great-grandfather. The census shows that his occupation was that of a baker and confectioner. His age is shown as 31 but I have had no luck looking in the UK birth records for him.
