Lily Scott/Bacon 1866 Ramsey
Can anyone help me in tracing Lily Scott born in Ramsey, Essex. 1866. Her parents were William & Lucy Scott and lived in Stoke by Nayland, Suffolk. Lily married a John Bacon a soldier in Colchester Essex, and believed to have lived in Colchester. I would be interested in hearing from any of her family/relatives to fill in our family tree. Any information would be appreciated. Thank You.

Isaac King and Lydia King (nee Boules or Bowles.) of Stoke by Nayland. Their youngest son, Henry, left the UK in 1858 for Christhcurch Canterbury perhaps to join his elder sister Lucy, who had married Ephraim Jeffs. Henry married Emily Smith and had a large family in Rangiora Canterbury. He died at 57 after a long illness and left a large family of 12. I am interested in Isaac King's father said to be James King and his mother Susannah King nee Farrow and the possibility of them being Quakers.

I am researching my gt gt grandfather's family who have connections with Stoke by Nayland. Daniel Rolfe was born in Stoke by Nayland in 1800. His father was William Rolfe who was born in Suffolk c.1771. William was married to Mary Webb in Stoke by Nayland in 1796. There was another son, Thomas who was born in 1797 also in Stoke. If anyone has any information about the Rolfe or Webb family prior to 1796, please share this with me. C.T.

James Benjamin Samson
Looking for information on or relatives of James Benjamin Samson. Address once listed as Melford Rd., Stoke by Nayland but that was 60 years ago. James was a Domestic Chauffeur at Tendring Hall. He was probably born around 1900 or so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have traced my family back to Joseph CLARKE who married Elizabeth SARJEANT in Polstead in 1807. Both were born in Stoke by Nayland or Nayland and they went to Wormingford Essex to raise their family. Joseph's parents appear to be Joseph Clarke married to Alice Blundwin (later spelt Blunden in her descendants' names). He had a younger sister Elizabeth. Elizabeth Sarjeant (again various spellings) appears to be the daughter of Daniel Sarjeant and Mary Winny. If you know anything about these families I would be delighted to hear from you.

John Ratley was my 7 times great grandfather and he married Susan Larrett on 22nd February 1695 in Stoke-by-Nayland. They had at least one son Henry born 27th December 1702 from whom I am descended. Nothing else is known regarding John and Susan andI would be pleased to hear from anyone who may have further information.
