red mail Rattlesden Baker Family
Looking for information about the Baker family. Two daughters and four brothers. Mother died young and oldest daughter stayed to care for younger brothers and sisters.
SCOTT of Rattlesden and area
I have for several years, been searching for 'missing' members of the prominent family of SCOTT who started at Brabourne in Kent c1400 with some members of the family founding the SCOTT's of Camberwell in Surrey. They were employed by the Royal families while holding high office, yet some seem to have dropped off the radar in the 1600's with most traces disappearing in the early 1700's. With the rescent discovery of some of them in Suffolk, it seems I may yet continue to trace the line. There is a belief that the Rattlesden or Glemsford SCOTT's were a branch of the SCOTT's of Scot's Hall, Brabourne, Kent. They also had large land holdings and Manors in Norfolk. Any help to establish links between the various SCOTT families of Suffolk will be very much appreciated. Thank you

red mail Robert Chester b c 1805
Looking for Robert Chester born c 1805 know not where or exactly when. He was a tailor by profession and appears on 1841 census at Rattlesden, Suffolk aged 36 with his second wife and family. On 1851 census his wife is described as a widow. He is described as a widower at his marriage on 9 June 1835 at Barking, Suffolk to Priscilla Soar. They had several children at Rattlesden and then at Needham Market, Suffolk. The last child with Robert named as father was George Chester born 30 March 1845 at Needham Market. Maurice Chester was born 18 May 1849 at Needham Market with Priscilla Chester as mother but no father named. On Maurice's marriage cert his father is shown as John Chester a coal dealer. Priscilla's second husband (remarried 20 Aug 1854) was John Vincent a coal dealer ! Despite extensive research by myself and others we cannot find the death details of Robert Chester, so do not know where or when he died. Nor can we find his place or date of birth or any details of his first marriage. Robert Chester was a man of great mystery ! Any help would be much appreciated please, to help overcome this great brick wall. Alan
