red mail Walter Joseph Taylor
Walter Joseph TAYLOR was born in Cockfield in 1882. He married Edna Emily JOHNSON (my Great-aunt) in 1905. The marriage took place in Farnham near Aldershot, Hampshire. Walter joined the Royal Army Medical Corps rising to the rank of W.O. sergeant (dispensing). His regimental number was 16048. Two daughters, Edna Elsie Phyllis and Gladys May were born at the Army base in Aldershot. Walter died in London, 1942, at age 60. Edna lived in the same house, No. 80 Ramsden Road, Balham, London until she died in early 1956 at age 72. If anyone has further information on Walter or his family, please let me know. Thank you. Barry in Canada.

red mail Sturgeon
I am looking for the identity of Robert William Sturgeon who was born in Gibralter in 1868. His mother's name was Ann and she was born in Yorkshire in 1836. He lived in Cockfield from 1881 with his Mother and sister (both Ann)In the census of that year Ann was listed as a widower. Robert was married in 1892 and had three sons, Robert, Charles and Arthur. The latter is my grandfather. I feel that Robert Williams father must have been a Cockfield resident.
