red mail HAWARD of Bungay
please help me in my research into my mother's Haward family. So far I have definitely traced her family back to Charles Haward (1793-1838)a currier of Upper Olland St. Bungay. I am now faced with several alternative Haward lines when trying to establish his ancestry/parentage. I know for certain that he married Maria Pratt on the 27th March 1826 in Needham, however I suspect he was a widower and had previously been married to Sarah Tippell on the 2nd June 1815 at Stuston in the deanery of Hartismere, please can you confirm my suspicion. I also believe Charles may have had the precursor leather business to Nurseys at Upper Olland St, Nurseys claim to have been at this address since 1790, however the trade directories do not support this claim, is it possible that they bought the business from the Haward family after Charles's death in 1838, his children left the area soon afterwards.
