I have traced my Lock(e) lineage back to Boxford, where it seems we lived for a lot of the 1600's and 1700's, before my line moves to Polstead and then Stoke by Nayland, then Leavenheath and finally ended up in Dagenham. I would like to hear from anybody else who is related to the Boxford Lock(e)s, to swap and share information.

Has anyone any information about Thomas Lewis born C1789 in Boxford and married to Mary Smith (1792-1865) who was also born in the village. They had a son William b. 1825 in Boxford. The family eventually moved to Wandsworth, probably around the mid 19C. Grateful for any information about the Smith family also.

We have found that a family member had a funeral service at the Congregational Chapel in Boxford in 1942. We think that the Chapel is now a private house. Does anyone know whether the Chapel had a Cemetery or would burials have taken place at the Parish Church?

Alfred M.E.Robinson was born in Boxford in mid 1859. He went to Islington and was noted as being a water timekeeper for a company called Newriver Co in the 1901 census. He married Alice Corker in 1884 of Islington and all 5 children were born in Islington. Seeking information on Alfred and Alice.

BAKERS OF BOXFORD
Looking for anyone who has any information, however small, on John BAKER, Samuel BAKER and John HAZLE who were all convicted of sheep stealing in Bury Quarter Sessions 1835. They were sentenced for life and John and Samuel BAKER were transported to NSW 1835 on the vessel 'England' John BAKER was Zachariah BAKER's father (see previous message) John died in Goulburn Hospital in 1847

I am looking for the father of Zachariah Baker born 1844 Boxford. His mother was Mary Baker born about 1813 Polstead. Siblings of Zachariah were John c.1833, Eliza c.1844, Jane c.1848, William and Mariah c.1850 Zachariah married Harriet Ennals in 1864, Polstead.

James FULBROOK was born in Boxford, Suffolk c.1820 but his family was from Sussex. He married Judith MITCHELL (born c1825, Heathfield, Sussex) on 19 March 1842. There seems to be no further connection with Boxford or Suffolk generally. I don't know why the family were in Boxford nor for how long. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has come across the FULBROOK name in their researches.

Henry first appears in Boxford in 1625 marrying Bridget Cooke of Kersey. They baptised 3 children here. I have found Henry's burial and am seeking Henry's baptism and Bridget's burial (got his. Their daughter Bridget Atteron married Edward Nunn here in 1654 and they then moved away to Monks Eleigh. Also Interested in any descendants.

James Baker is my 3 times great grandfather. He married Sarah ???? and they had at least 6 children: Sarah 1816, Lucy 1818, Jonathan 1821, Emma 1822. All were born in Boxford, Suffolk. No facts are known regarding the origin of father James or Sarahand so far their wedding has not been traced. I am interested in any information regarding James and Sarah or any of the children.
