My g g grandfather James Bloomfield c1815 gives Benhall as his birthplace on the 1841 and 1851 census (living Fylde,Lancs.).His father is named as James also on his Marriage cert.However on most family trees I have seen,the family seems to hail from Bucklesham,where the first child is James. Any help would be welcome,Michael

John Herring possibly born Wansden, Suffolk circa 1781 married Hannah Bloomfield born Knoddishall. They have been located in 1851 census in Dry Drayton and John located in 1861 census with daughter Mary. John was widowed by this time. Hannah died 1860 and John in 1868 John & Hannah appear to be buried with daughter mary in Benhall, St Mary. Can anyone add any furtehr informaiton

One further daughter Mary Ann born 3 July 1852, Murrundi NSW Aust.William died Murrundi NSW AUST,18 August 1888.

I am trying to trace brother and sister, John Atherton and Grace Atherton Powell, who in the 1901 UK Census are aged 13 and 14. Their mother had died in 1897 and their father, Captain Charles Atherton Ffolliott Powell, was a merchant marine captain. They are living as "boarders" with a farmer, George Boast, of White House Farm, Benhall. Grateful for any info re John and Grace.
