red mail Osborne living in Aldringham around 1815
I am looking into the Chard family tree and can trace back to Joshua Chard the Suffolk Hero. Apparently he was brought to Aldringham, Suffolk by his mother's sister referred to as just Mrs Osborne who was living in Stone Cottage. I presume Mrs Osborne's maiden name was Chard and she would have come from Dorset originally.

red mail Goodwin
My grandparents lived in Aldringham in latter years. They were both buried in Aldringham churchyard. They had 10 children and I know the history of the youngest four children. I know that two older sons emigrated to South Africa. I am not sure which two these were. There were Henry born 1873, William born 1873, Charles born 1871 and Harry born 1876, so could have been any two of these. One of their younger sisters Eliza Maria was my maternal grandmother. Perhaps someone knows more about the family.
