I am searching for the ancestors of Thomas Gibbons,born circa 1814 and transported to Van Diemans Land in 1836.He was a blacksmith by trade. His convict indent states he was a native of Wolverhampton whilst his headstone states native of Staffordshire. Also on the headstone are the place names Woodgreen and Westbury. These somehow appear to go back to his English origins but I have never been able to ascertain their significance. Can anyone help?

I am led to believe that Harry was born in London and moved to Wolverhampton. He worked on the rail roads. I know he died with a heart problem but not sure when. Harry married a lady called Emily Green and i think they had five children one of them being Jean Lampitt who bore my Father John William Lampitt. William seems to be a strong name in my family as Harry's middle name was William, my uncle is called William and my Nan Jean's Brother was also called William. My father was Harold CARTWRIGHT who was born in Wolverhampton as were all his siblings, Charles, Cyril, Leonard, Maud and Ellen. Harold was born on 22.4.1910 and his father Charles James was born at Wolverhampton West on 9.12.1873. Any contact with anyone researching this family would be most welcome.

looking for descendants of JOSEPH and SARAH ARMSTRONG, they lived in the SALOP STREET area of WOLVERHAMPTON,JOSEPH was a Hinge Maker by trade. So far i have 7 children born to them (JOSEPH & SARAH) they are JOSEPH, RUTH, JOANNA, JOHN(my gt gt gtgrandfather), REUBIN, JOSEPH and BENJAMIN. JOHN ARMSTRONG married HANNAH TIBBETTS and they moved to HORSELEY HEATH area of TIPTON, and JOHN died at ELWELLS FIELD, GREAT BRIDGE in 1865, and HANNAH died there also in 1865 and they were buried at ST MARTINS CHURCHYARD (aka THE PEPPERBOX),TIPTON.
