red mail Ann Wilkes m West Bromwich 1840?
Trying to track family which leads to Ann Wilkes: Heaton Wilkes 1727-1803 m. Ann Turton in 1754 in London and they lived in Tettenhall; their children John, Henry, Ann; John b 1755 d 1791, m. Mary Turton Mar 3 1777 in All Saints West Bromwich and she apparently died as he m 2 Mrs. Elizabeth Wilkes of Willenhall in 1779 or 1780; son John b Sept 6 1789 and chr. All Saints in West Bromwich. I think this John m. Hannah Welch in Rugeley on Dec. 26 1814 and that their daughter Ann Wilkes was chr. Jan. 26 1817 at St Chad's Lichfield. I hope she is the Ann Wilkes listed in marriage register as marrying in Oct.Nov.Dec. 1840-- in vol 18 pg. 70, in West Bromwich-- I have no way to access who she married, but am hoping it was James Jallings of Southall Notts; the 1841 census shows them as married and living in Pembrokeshire Wales; the 1851 census shows them in Southampton (he was a naval engineer) and says her birthplace was Coventry, but I have not found any Ann Wilkes in IGI or LDS or any other record available on line who was born there at about that time. Any help MUCH appreciated!
