TETTENHALL PARISH CHURCH
Seeking information about Tettenhall Parish Church, where ISAAC CARTWRIGHT and MARY AUSTWICK were married on 3.10.1769. I have details of a baptism at the same Church for MARY CARTWRIGHT, b. Tettenhall 1775, but no reference yet to other siblings. In 1799, the illegitimate birth is recorded of EDWARD CARTWRIGHT, son of MARY CARTWRIGHT, but I have not yet established if it is one in the same Mary. Any information about ISAAC, MARY (Snr), MARY (Jnr) and any other children of Isaac and Mary willbe most welcome.
red mail 2 X Great Grandmother Elizabeth Evans
I have been trying to find a birth record for Elizabeth EVANS with no success. I do know from her marriage cert and from census entries that she was born in Tettenhall, Staffordshire. Her father's name was John EVANS and in 1869 when she married he was stated as being a Groom. Elizabeth married Luke DITCHBURN who was born in Haswell, Co. Durham. They were both of full age when they married (over 21). I believe Elizabeth would have been born between 1842 and 1848. Each census, 1871, 81, & 91has a discrepancy with her age varying up to 6 years. She and Luke became Master and Mistress of the Union Workhouse in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. They had one son Matthew Watson DITCHBURN who was born in 1870. If anyone can help I will be very grateful.
