Looking for relatives (parents, siblings) of Elizabeth Slaney, spinster, of Penkridge who married Thomas Brewster, widower, of Stretton on 23 Jun 1783 in Penkridge. I believe she may have been the daughter of John Slaney, surgeon of Walsall and his wife Mary Taylor, but this is conjecture. Elizabeth Slaney and Thomas Brewster had 5 children, Ann (1786-1870), John (1788-1831), Edward (1790-1853), Honor (1792-1864) and Charlotte (1795-1801). Would love to hear from anyone else researching Slaney surname in Staffordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire.

I am trying to find the ancestors of William Cartwright (c1707-1781). I only know his son was born in Staffordshire. I do not know where William was born. His wife was Anne (c1708-1787), and they married c1731. I am trying to trace HIS ancestors so I can complete my family tree as far back as I possibly can. I seem to be at a dead end. Searching for father of:- John Anslow b.1822-3 in Penkridge who married Emma Banks at Rushall in 1845 (they were both living in Ryecroft}. Have traced John and Emma in censuses to Bilston. On censuses sometimes Penkridge, sometimes Bilston as birthplace. 1851 they were living with John's sister Eliza Bake, a widow. His father was also John but I cannot trace him, he was listed as a carpenter on John and Emma's marriage certificate. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated as I am really stuck.

Sarah's parents were John and Sarah CRITCHLEY, believed to be from Penkridge. Children of George and Sarah SILVESTER are: Mary b 1837 in Bilston, Ann b 1837 in Bilston, Sarah Jane b 14 Mar 1840 in Bilston, William Horatio b 16 Oct 1841 in Bilston, John Thomas b 16 Feb 1844 in Penkridge, and George Albert b about 1847. In 1841 the family lived in Church St, Penkridge and to our knowledge still lived there until they arrived in Australia in Dec 1852. Would like more information about this family during their time in Penkridge.

I am looking for the family of Bernard Meeson (Lowe and Wincer surnames used) (b abt 1883, d 1917 - WWI battle of Cambrai). His name is on the war memorial by the church. Any help would be appreciated as his sole surviving daughterand decendents would like to know about his other family members. He left a wife Isabella (Gripton) and two daughters who live/lived in the Cannock area. I have details on many Meeson trees in Penkridge but have recently linked them to the surnames Lowe and Wincer. I now believe that the family can from Gnosall and Bradley just north of Penkridge. I am trying to find traces of Thomas Davies, who married a Laura Ann Heath from Wolverhampton. Thomas should have been born in Penkridge in 1857, but I have been unable to find any trace of this. My ancestor Thomas Timbs, born in Brewood, became a saddler in Penkridge with a shop on Clay Street and Bridge Street between about 1820 and 1855. His name is mentioned in "The Good Old Grit". His son Thomas carried on the business until hedied around 1880. Daughters Elizabeth, Margaret and Fanny Timbs were living in Marsh, Penkridge in 1881. Another brother, John Timbs was my ancestor, who moved away to Cheshire. Does anyone know anything at all about this family?
