He was brought up by her in laws when she married into the Hall family and was killed in 1879. He may have married Emma Beedle of Norton Canes (born Pontesbury)

My grandfather John MANSELL b.1877 Norton Canes married Amy Elizabeth HERBERT b.1883, also Norton Canes, daughter of James Frederick HERBERT b.1853 Stoke Poges, Bucks. I think there is a link with the MANSELL from Bangalore, India and almost certainly with Robert MANSELL who married Elizabeth PINCHES.If anyone can clear up the links for me, would be most grateful.

In 1851 William Whitehouse married Susannah Hopley from Norton. In 1871 Isaac Bentley, who may have been his brother-in-law, came to Norton and encamped on Norton Common with the ready-made children of his wife Elizabeth, who were William, Charles, Sarah ( my 2x gt grandmother)Abraham, and Isaiah Whitehouse and then had a daughter Ann Jane Bentley. the brothers were mainly coal miners. I am trying to trace descendants of the brothers via Norton and Pelsall. Isaiah is thought to have been a lay preacher. Anyone have any information?

William Poxton (or possibly Poxon) baptised 8 Jun 1777 Norton Canes is my 4th great grandfather. He married Mary Aldridge (b 1778 Walsall) on 24 June 1798 at St Matthew's Church, Walsall. William and Mary had several children including my 3rd great grandfather John Poxton b 1802 Brownhills, Staffordshire. John was a coal miner. John married Maria Standly (aka Maria Teece) on 11 Feb 1828 at St Matthew's Church, Walsall. John and Maria had 15 children.
