My RUSSELL family from Bilston and Wednesbury turned up in Newton, Hyde, Cheshire by 1836. The mother Ann, born in Carmarthen, Wales, c. 1786 was alone with her children in 1841 and by 1851 she was a widow. From marriages I know the father to have been William RUSSELL, a bookkeeper. The children were Mary Ann c. 1805, never married. Caroline, my great great grandmother, c. 1812 married John ADAMS in Ashton under Lyne in 1845. Alfred RUSSELL c. 1816 married Betty BROOKES in Manchester Cathedral in 1841. There were also James c. 1824 and John c. 1825. I have searched parish records and IGI for likely baptisms without finding them. I would dearly love to find more information on this family.

Looking for Thomas Hoo Foster, married Francis Hatkiss 3 November 1793 at St Peter's Wolverhampton. They had several children in Bilston. Suggestion that a Foster had earlier married a Hoo in the Bilston area.

Thomas William was born in 1847 in Walsall and on the b. cert his mother is listed as Charlotte Spencer although no father's name is revealed. Her parents James and Hannah ALFORD, moved between the years 1880 and 1881 with 4 children, to Pilsley, Derbyshire, where they had another 5 children. James was a coal miner and a lot of mining families migrated from the B'ham areas to Derbyshire about this time.
