They have at least one child baptised at Wrington: 1761 Jul 23 Joseph son of Joseph and Jane Beacham ******************* 1705 May 16 Charles Betcham of James & Sarah Betcham baptised at Wrington. Charles's first wife is Mary - I can't find the wedding They have 4 children from 1730 to 1742. Mary dies: 1743 Mar 31 Mary wife of Charles Beacham buried. I assume the same Charles then remarries a Sarah in 1743-1745. I can't find the wedding. James & Elizabeth JONES (b 1750s) farmed at Court Farm in Wrington. They had a number of children there (James, Richard, Emanuel, Samuel, Phoebe, Silvester, Joseph). Son James married twice (2nd time to Lois BROWNE); Phoebe married Charles BABER; Silvester married Ann SHELDEN (or SHELDON). Silvester took over farming Court Farm from his father and he and Ann had a number of children there (Fanny, Silvester Henry, James Edwin, Henrietta, Jennetta, Charles John, Phebe Maud). I am keen to exchange info about this family or about Court Farm.

In 1714 Ann Somner married Hill Tripp at Burrington It seems that she was the daughter of John and Ann Somner possibly of Wrington, her mother had been a Miss Capel. The two names - Somner and Capel have been handed down in the Tripp family to the present day. Does anyone have any information about the original families? I am researching Barnes/Barns in North Somerset. I would like to find out where JOHN BARNES and his wife JANE STEPHENS Farmed they married at Wrington in 1755. John is the son of CHARLES BARNES who married SARAH HILL WIDOW at St Johns Bedminster in1721. Charles may be connected to JOHN BARNES BAKER OF TICKENHAM who married ELIZABETH SAUNDERS at St Augustine the less in 1694. This couple had a daughter Mary who married WILLIAM WATTS @ wrington in 1718 and then WILLIAM GREY IN 1740. JOHN BARNES of wrington BAKER leased a cottage in 1701 which was near the church stile. JOHN BARNES the son of JOHN BARNES OF CLIFFDON (CLEVEDON) Yeoman was apprenticed to JOHN HAYMAN BAKER in Feb 1675 and became a burgess 3rd March 1682/3.
