red mail READING, HULL and CHAPPELL families of Stawell
I've managed to trace my READING/REDDING family back to Thomas and Mary READING, who had at least three children baptized at Stawell; these included Edward READING, bap 25 Nov 1751, who married Sarah HULL on 11 May 1773 at nearby Moorlinch. Edward READING and Sarah HULL had at least nine children, and all but one of these were baptized at Stawell. Their first-born daughter (my 4G Grandmother, Susanna READING) was actually baptized at nearby Catcott in 1775; she married William CHAPPELL on 21 Apr 1798, Moorlinch. They, too, lived thereafter at Stawell, and had their seven children baptized there. Their daughter Jane CHAPPLE, bap 07 Mar 1802 at Stawell, married Charles WRIDE on 08 Dec 1831 at East Brent, Somerset, after which they soon set up home in nearby Wedmore. If you have any connection to the above, I will be happy to share info, and am especially looking for earlier CHAPPELL and READING data.

My 4G Grandparents were William CHAPPELL or CHAPPLE and Susannah REDDING, who were married on 21 Apr 1798 at Moorlinch, Somerset, but who were described in the parish register as being "of Stawell". Married Charles WRIDE. 3. William CHAPPELL, bap 19 Feb 1804. 4. Maria CHAPPELL, bap 30 Mar 1806. Married John HAWKS. 5. George CHAPPELL, bap 28 Feb 1808. 6. John CHAPPELL, bap 25 Feb 1810. 7. Charles CHAPPELL, born circa 1813. Married Sarah TANNER. Currently trying to find out more about William CHAPPELL and Susannah REDDING's parents, etc.
