red mail William & Elizabeth Yard inquiry
I am trying to find out about my ancesters William and Elizabeth Yard. I have very little info other than their names and that I believe William died prior to 1880-1881 and Elizabeth emigrated to the United States afterwards in 1880-1881. Several children emigrated with her, but I cannot confirm if they are her children or young relatives under her care. Their names include George Yard, Dorcas Yard, Samuel Yard, Emma Yard, Louisa Yard, Poppy Yard, Henry Yard, and William Yard. Dorcas Yard is my great-grandparent. I don't know who her parents are for sure. I had a name of John Yard for her father (died in 1880-1881), but she emigrated with Elizabeth, who I have records showing as being married to William, not John. Is she her mother or an aunt, etc? Are John and William the same person since both are deceased and Elizabeth has John's children. Many unanswered questions. Any assistance with any questions or info is appreciated.
