Lewis Flower - Mary Simms. Dunkerton, Somerset
I am looking for the ancestry of Lewis FLOWER and Mary SIMMS, who married in 1756 at Dunkerton, Somerset. They had 6 children, Lucy, James, Mary, George, Christian and Mark. I can only find one mention of a Lewis FLOWER outside of this marriage and that was for a child born to a Mary HORWOOD (married to Joseph HORWOOD) in 1768. Does anyone have any details of Lewis before his marriage, or Mary. Thank you.

The Lye family
Looking for any info on the Lye family of Dunkerton. My gg grandfather Edwin Brown b.1809 at Combe Hay married Susannah Lye b. c1813 and died 1849. In 1871 Edwin and his 2nd wife Rebecca Fell and children came to Dunkerton to live but he died there in 1876. He was a carpenter. STAMP, Stone Mason of Dunkerton
I have a photo of a gravestone of Jesse STAMP which I think might be of interest to the couple from Portsmouth I met one wet Sunday afternoon in July in Dunkerton Churchyard. The stone is located in the graveyard of WITHYDITCH Baptist Chapel, just up the hill from Dunkerton. The inscription reads: To the Memory of Jesse Stamp who died Sep 4th 1898 aged 79 years. Also of Mary Stamp the beloved wife of the above who died June 30th 1910 aged 93 years. I am the way the truth & the life. There were also gravestones there that had the initials of J.
