Hello, I'm looking for ancestors of my Gt Grandmother, Daisy Burnell. She was born in Kilburn, Middlesex but her family came from Combe Florey. Her father was George Burnell (1851-1891) and her grandfather was Samuel Burnell (1816-c.1875). Samuel was born, lived and buried in Combe Florey and he married Mary Babbidge/Babbage (b. Holcombe Rogus, Devon). They had 11 children. Samuel Burnell's parents were Robert Burnell and Martha Evans, again from Combe Florey. Any info you might have would be superb!

Thomas Clement born c1771 married Ann Unknown born c 1774. On 1841 census living Combe Florey as a mason, along with son George born c1816 who married Hannah Palmer in 1838. Childen Isaac c1841,Frances c1842,Charles c1843, Eliza c 1844 all born in Combe Florey and Henry born 1848 in Bishops Lydeard. Children seem to all have 's'on name, making them all Clements.

Elsie Annie May Vickery was the illegitimate daughter of Rose who was a servant at the manor Combe Florey. She was born on Christmas Day 1917.I would be grateful any information about Rose. I know that she went on to marry William Frederick Alfred Searle in 1920. Also any information about my mother's grandparents William (born 1877 in Creech St Michael) and Sarah Ann (nee Burnett born circa 1878 in Brompton Ralph) who cared for her after Rose married. looking for family or anyone who knew my dad's family. lived in cob cottages, coombe florey. my grandad, james griffin was a carter on a farm. married to emma. together they had lots of children, daughters seem to have gone into service. my dad and brothers mentioned in 1901 census as living at home. do you know anything about them or their descendents? boys names jack, cecil george, francis(frank), walter. girls names emma, gertrude alice,. there are more names but i do not know them. grandad james was from fitzhead. appreciate any info

I'm descended from the GAD family of Combe Florey (the surname is also spelt GADD and GUDD). So far, I've traced back to John and Rebecka GUDD who were probably born about 1650. I have GAD information up to about 1800; names associated with the GADs are MILWARD, BELLIMAN (BELLAMY?), LANG, MOOR, SILK, TOTTERDELL, OATREY and LYDDON/LIDDON. Happy to share info.

Hi There could anyone help with where I can find baptisms and marriages for Combe Flory & Over Stowey. They are not listed on the bishops transcripts which is a pity as they are really useful. My Gt Grandfather William Coles who Married Mary Ann Collard may be the 6 year old son of Charles Coles born Combe Florey and Elizabeth born Overstowey on the 1851 census for Combe Florey which I have on Disk from Gordon Bevington Any help much appreciated jAY
