red mail Shellard Family Bath
Please contact me with any info on the SHELLARD's of Bath. I have the following data - From the 1841 census (kindly looked up by Mike Walker) - SHELLARD family living in Ladymead, Bath (now part of Walcot Street) Robert, 30, Wheelwright Ann, wife,30 Frederick, son, 4 Edward Samuel, son, 2 Harriet Jane, dau, 2mths Edward Samuel then moved to London and married. According to the 1881 census the family are living at 17 Drummond Street, St Pancras - Edward, Fanny and children Walter (b 1868), Charles (b 1878) and Jane (b 1880). The IGI has baptism records for a Harriet Jane in 1866 and a Walter William in 1868 to Edward Samuel & Harriet SHELLARD. I'm not certain if Harriet = Fanny or if Harriet died and Edward remarried to Fanny. The gap in ages between Walter & Charles could suggest the second situation. In 1891 the family are still at Drummond Street and there are now 3 more children - Frances (b 1882), Frederick (b 1886) and Harriet (b 1891). There is no mention of Walter and Jane is now shown as Ann (same age so assumed same child). In 1901 only the women of the family are shown at home - Fanny is now a widow and is living with her daughters - Nellie (another name change for Jane/Ann???) age 21, Frances age 19 and Harr...
