red mail ASHBRITTLE ELIZABETH SNOW
One of my ancestors William Cude/Coode bap 6.4.1806 in Ashbrittle had a Son Mark Snow Cude baptised sep 1831 Mother Elizabeth. They had other children later and are on the 1851 census We are sure she must be Elizabeth Snow bap Ashbrittle Aug 1806 daughter of Mark & Mary Snow but we have been unable to find the marriage. It may be later than the birth of Mark as an earlier family search about twenty years ago gave the date as 1833 but we have no trace as to where they found that date. If anyonecan shed light on this we would much appreciate it. Jay
red mail Cullifords
My ancestors were farmers and yeomen in Ashbrittle and Clayhanger. They lived at Hart's farm and Norman's farm in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Any further information about Cullifords in the area would be appreciated.
Shoplands In Ashbrittle
From the mid 1700s the SHOPLAND surname has appeared in this village, although the first recording was about 1609. It is thought the some Shoplands moved out of Devon into Somerset during the 1600s and it is this subject which is being investigated.Any item about any Shoplands from any period would be appreciated
