red mail EVANS - Richard s/o Charles
My grandfather's marriage certificate showed his birth in Welshampton, Shropshire and his father as Charles. I understand that a Richard EVANS was baptised in Mar 1864 father Charles Evans mother Harriet Hines in Welshampton, Shropshire. However, cannot find birth registration. Ellesmere was usual place but a 1865 birth there showed his father was not Charles.6a 709 Found Richard also in 1891 and 1901 census and others that are possibly him. However the other census records he was living away from home and not positive its him without knowing his mothers name. However, need birth certificate to prove its him. Its possible that his birth was registered in WEM or elsewhere in County. He always told his children that his father owned or operated a canal barge and that he was born in Wales. Dates are conflicting. Married 18 May 1891 age 22 Birkenhead son claims he was 30 census Apr 1891 age 25 Port Sunlight census 1901 age 35 1 possible 1881 census age 16 died age 75 Sep 1940 St. Helens, Lancs. bus accident during blackout. He had a brother Lloyd who attended his funeral but cannot find him or sister Pamela and her son Melrose. Have more info on family to share but this is all I have that relates to his birth.
