Elizabeth Cock was baptised 17/12/1688, father named as Francis Cock (baptised 1655). Elizabeth then went on to marry William Dickenson 21/10/1716, Much Wenlock. Can anyone assist as I have exhausted my search records.

red mail WELLINGS FAMILIES OF SALOP
Wellings is a very ancient name, found in its varients in many parts of England in early times, in nrth of England in the early 12th century, in the 14th century we see William Wellynge complaining to the king of England, the king of Bavaria had confisticated his merchandise, along with that of his fellow travellers. In the south of England we see A Robert de Wellynge in controversey about land, In another part of the Dooms Day Book, complaining his father Robert de Welles had been killed at the hands of the Earl of Oxford. We see A Lady Wellynge running a Convent, and renting out church lands. Then of course we have a place in the London area named Welling. But more ancient, and in Roman writings we have a settlement called Welling in the Rhyne Land, what we know as Germany today. Had they been part of Roman conscription, or migrated later??. But we shall concern ourselves with the Wellings families of Shropshire. It would appear sometime in or about the latter half of the 15th century, Wellings came to, or appeared in Shropshire. Their sons of whome we have some record, we begin with. These were 4 brothers, spelling their names, or rather the clericks did so, where each settled, who went on to spell their names differently,--Richard went to Ludlow, written Wellan --John in Bridgenorth--Wealan--the other two Welles and Wellynge respectiveley. The record shows by the begining of the 17th century, all these families had settled for Wellings, and had inter married on occassion. Wellings's in Shropshire are very easy to research, since mostly they registered births and marraiges. The majority of generations serving as town Burgesses.

red mail Albert Edward Jones born 1908
I am looking for the birth information on my father, Albert Edward Jones who was born in Much Wenlock on February 11, 1908 to Georgina Helen Jones. The father was never identified and kept a secret. My father, Albert Edward Jones, died at 90 years of age in 1998 in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada. He was an only child to Georgina who later married Will Holbrook. My understanding is that Georgina Jones was a maid at a Manor/Hall in or around Much Wenlock at the time she became pregnant with my father. My Dad was a tremendous man in so many important ways and we miss him so much. My sister and I are deeply interested in finding out ANY and ALL information related to my Dad and his birth and early years. Thank you in advance.
