Does anyone have any knowlege of the Dixey or Wass family in Ryhall. My great grandfather was a publican, his wife was Jane & daughter was Sarah Jane? Thankyou

WILLIAM TAYLOR b 1830 listed in 1861 census as being from RYHALL and in 1891 census from NORTH LUFFENHAM. l have him and his family in census 1861 onwards but am unable to locate them in 1841 or 1851 census. Would love to know more about him, his family, parents, siblings etc.

On 1901 census he was a butcher in Ryhall. He was born 1873 and had a younger sister Kate. They were the children from the second marriage of Charles Francis to Elizabeth ?,Charles was a baker in Belmesthorpe.(my 2gt grandfather) I am looking for any descendents of Joseph William assuming he married. Kate did not marry. Charles brother Joseph left £50 in his will to the methodist church to help fund an elementary school in Ryhall. Any info welcome Ann Grout

Gr gr grandfather Richard Downs started a foundy in Ryhall (Foudry Rd) 1825 ish the business continuing to 1950 ish. I have a lot of info but am still looking for more, even the smallest detail is of value to me so would love to hear from anyone whohas any knowledge of the family. Anyone have any photos of the works/house or, bills for work done or memories etc? We are metioned in the following books, "Villages of Rutland" "Old Motors of Rutland" and "Traction Engines of Rutland". Please write if you can help in any way, Ryhall is a long way from Exmouth.
