red mail Easter Kinkell - (Easter Kinkell - Ross-shire)
My ancestor, Hector Morrison, lived in Easter Kinkell, and was probably born in 1811 at Urquhart. I would be willing to exchange information. I have his bible, and it says: "This Book belongs to me Hector Morison in Newton of Kinkell, in Ancreaish 1830" His wife has written her name in the front as "Isabella Morrison" - with 2 r's The Baptism Register from the parish of Urquhart and West Logie shows him as Hector Urquhart Morison, but he does not use the Urquhart in the Bible. The next child baptised had the suranme Urquhart, so perhaps there was an error? There is a confusion about his DoB. It is actually 1811, but the Cenus of 1841 showed him as 25, which is wrong. Enumerators were instructed to round adult ages down to the nearest 5 years.

red mail Macadams from Fearn? - (Fearn - Ross-shire)
Hello All. I'm starting to research a Macadam family who, according to the 1911 census were resident in Townhead Glasgow at 125 Parson Street. Mother Annie is recorded as Head of Household, though not as a widow. Husband perhaps Robert or John (2 eldest sons). She's recorded as a Gaelic-speaker from Ross-shire, the town/village unclear but looks like Feanor . Fearn? She and the eldest child, a girl, Isa, 16 in 1911, were born in Fearn (?) but the next child, 15, born in Glasgow. So it looks like a move south circa 1895. Focusing on the second son, John (13 in 1911), whose dying letter to his father from a shell-hole in France circa 1915 has rent my heart, and I so want to know more about his family. Many thanks to anyone who can help. All best Lorna

red mail Peter McKinnon - (Strath - Ross-shire)
Peter McKinnon was born c 1771 in Strath, Isle of Skye. I have him in censuses not living in Strath, but living with his daughter Margaret McKinnon and grandchildren Robert and Betty Smith. I also have Peter's napoleonic war records. However I am unable to find a marriage for Peter, so I am unable to find a baptism for Margaret (who was born c 1811). I also can't find any parents for Peter. My grandad is convinced there is a link to Bonnie Prince Charlie, but because I'm not able to go back any further, sadly this is looking like one of those brick walls.
