Fry family of Boyle
Henry Fry built Frybrook House beside the river in Boyle in the mid 1700s. It remained in the Fry family until well into the twentieth century. One of his sons was Major Oliver Fry and details of his family are contained in the book "Annals of the Late Major Oliver Fry R.A." compiled by his grandson, William Harloe Phibbs Fry. Fry descendants can be found in Canada, USA and Australia.
Sullivan
I am still trying to find any details regarding the birth of my two great grand aunts who according to the information that I have were born in Boyle. Mary Sullivan was born in about 1842 and Catherine Sullivan was born in about 1844. The parents were Cornelius Sullivan and Catherine Sullivan (nee Lane). Any information regarding the place and date of birth would be very welcome.

I am seeking information on my Grandmothers' family. She was Catherine Ryan, born C.1884 in Bradford Yorkshire. She married Edward Dempsey born Mountmellick about 1882 Her father was Patrick Ryan born about 1844 in Boyle. His father was possibly Jacob and his mother possibly Bridget. Patrick's wife was Mary Lamb and their children were Stephen 1871 / Mary Ellen 1872 / Margaret 1873/ John 1875 - 1950 / Frances 1878 - 1913 / Thomas 1880 / Owen 1882 - 1938 all born in Ireland and Catherine 1884 - 1971 & Emma 1888 born in Bradford Yorkshire. Any information on them or their ancestors will be gratefully received.

James BOLAND, was evicted from Coothall, near Boyle (Roscommon) and settled, died & is buried in Drumscallop, near Derrygonally (Fermanagh). He married a MAGUIRE. I understand that the MAGUIRE family are buried at Devenish Island. James's son, Michael BOLAND (1825 - 1893), married Eliza QUIIRKE. He ran the workhouse in Clonmel, had 13 children, and is buried in Clonmel, Co Tipperary. Can anyone tell me about the life of James BOLAND, and any children. Also about Michael, where was he born and living prior to Clonmel.

My great great grandparents Mary Tansey & Robert Hawkshaw were married in a RC ceremony in Boyle in 1845. They had at least 2 children (Mary Ann & Thomas) in Ireland, probably Tipperary, before moving to Sheffield c 1854 where Robert was employed as a currier. Does anyone have any information on this family relating to their life in Ireland?

Searching for details of Andrew Furey/Fury/Fuery/feury & Mary Madden who married in Roscommon in 1820s/30s and had at least 2 kids born there, Catherine b1836 & James (a tailor) b1843. Also possibly Patrick b 1837. Cath married Michael Egan from Ballygar, Galway in 1856 in L'pool. James married Mary Ann Whittington, also in L'pool in 1867. Her parents William and Alice Whittington were also from Roscommon. Pat married Bridget Egan of Ballygar in 1859 again in L'pool. Andrew had a brother Michael Furey who married Elizabeth (possibly Gormley) and had kids Mary Ann b1841, Thomas b1845 (a seaman) and Catherine b1847. (also possibly Ellen b1839) All went to Liverpool where Mary Ann married Arthur Vallely in 1861. Not known exactly where in Roscommon the Fureys came from.
