PENNSYLVANIA IMMIGRANT about 1766. From where is controversial. Some believe IRELAND, some SCOTLAND, perhaps BARRHEAD, Renfreswshire. Died in Dougle, Washington, Pennsylvania about 1818. Wife: Margaret / Mary LOWREY / LOWRY born about 1750. Most believe in Ireland. Died about 1832 in Dougle, Washington, Pennsylvania. Seven sons, and two daughters, all born in the PENNSYLVANIA / OHIO / VIRGINIA area. Does anyone know where I can find UK records that may help solve these mysteries? Thank you.
red mail William Harvey/Elizabeth Helena Paten
I am looking for information on William Harvey who married Elizabeth Helena Paten in Scotland. I believe Paisley/Barrhead area. William Harvey born 2 Oct. 1890 later sent his daughter, Margaret French Harvey,to Toronto, Canada around 1924-28. They later joined their daughter in Toronto, Canada. There were two other daughters who lived in Paisley: Elizabeth Harvey and May Harvey. May has a daughter still living named "Greta Anderson" in the Paisley area. If you have any information on any of these people, it would be appreciated. William Harvey died in Canada in 1933, but his wife moved back to Scotland soon afterward.

I am related to some Hugh Robertson's from Barrhead. My grandfather and great-grandfather were named Hugh. I know that there are also 1 or 2 Angus' in our family. My family used to live with a family named Nicol or Nichol. I believe they are either cousins or real good friends.
red mail Hugh Robertson
My grandfather came to America in September 1909, three months after the birth of my father Angus. My Grandmothers name was Mary and their oldest child was Hugh. My father passed away in 1987 and there is no connection to his birthplace. He often spoke of the family he had in Scotland. Many cousins named Nichol. I am planning a visit in 2005 to the area and would really like to meet some family. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Gordon
