red mail Charles Ryan
I am looking for anyone who is either related or remembers Charles Ryan. He was born in 1906 his parents were Peter Ryan and Rose (Rosie). Rosie died in 1918 of cancer. Charles was in the Black Watch and must have been injured in WW11 as he was in the Limbless home in Crieff where he died in 1998. Charles had a child with Helen Crawford Lauder Love (Helen was married to someone else at the time). The child (my mother) was named Rose. I would dearly like to find anyone who has information on him as we have only recently found out his name etc.

There may have been a brother Victor who worked in a post office or maybe another brother Edward, both would have been born after 1901. Any information would help. Thanks.
red mail JOHN McLAREN
John McLaren joined the 71st Regiment of Foot in 1840. He's given his place of birth as Crieff or Comrie but have no idea of his year of birth - perhaps c1825. He married Barbara HOPE from Berwick upon Tweed in 1847 at the Lamberton Toll. They had 3 daughters Margaret, Ann and Jane. According to Army quarterly discharge records John died whilst on furlough from Stirling Castle at Crieff on 17 January 1859. They must have had proof that he'd died then but so far have been unable to find a death registration in the Scotland, England or the Military BDM's. Really needed his Scottish death certificate to establish his parentage.

Patrick was born in Scotland, cerca, 1640 to 1660. I believe he was married about 1670 so 1650 is probably close to his date of birth. Margaret was the sister of David Toschach, last laird of Monzievaird. Her mother was Katherine Campbell whose sister married Patrick Roy McGregor, Clan chieftain in the mid 1600's. Patrick led two ships to the colonies in 1684, along with 25 Presbyterian Covenanter families, David Toschach, the brother of James Drummond, Earl of Perth, who financed the trip.
