red mail James Phillips & Diana Morris Circa 1812
Looking for ancestors of James Phillips a whaler who drowned at sea in about 1816. He married Diana Morris b 1788 at St Davids Church Hubberston in 1811. They had two children Robert Morris b 1812 and William b 1816. When he was drowned, James was a mate or 2nd mate on The Syren a ship owned by C & S Enderby of London. I have been stuck at this 'roadblock' for a long time so any information greatly appreciated. Thanks
red mail William Owens/Jane Thomas family of Hubberston
Descended from the family of Jane THOMAS (b. 1816, Llanstadwell) and William OWENS (b. 1811, Hubberston). William was a shipwright and the family resided in the old Hubberston Barracks during the 1851/1861 censuses. I believe Jane died in Hubberston about 1856 and unsure what became of William. Children included: John (b. 1936), Elizabeth (b. 1839), William (b. 1841), Thomas Henry (b. 1844), James Alfred (b. 1847), Emma (b. 1850), Arthur (b. 1851), and Alice Jane (b. 1854). John married Ann PURNELL and family resided in Kent and Swansea. Elizabeth married Thomas NEKREWS and remained in Hubberston. Thomas married Sarah RICHARDS and remained in Hubberston. James married Ellen REES and remained in Hubberston. Emma never married and resided w/ her brother in Swansea. Arthur married Ann EVANS and resided in Kent. Alice married Thomas MacKAN and remained in Pembrokeshire. Would like to connect with other descendants of this family. Thanks, Gregg
