red mail NEWMAN
My great grandfather Thomas Newman (born 1830) and family left Kidlington for Surrey in early 1880s, leaving a brother James (born 1839 Oxford and died Kidlington 1920) behind.. Have I any descendants through James left in Kidlington? James had 3 daughters Gertrude, Kate (or derivitive of) and one other whose name I have forgotten. They would all have been born in 1890s through James's second marriage. Gertrude married Mr Hunt and I discovered and corresponded with her in 1967 and was about to go and see her at Banbury Road in Kidlington when she passed away rather suddenly so never made it. They had a son James Alfred Hunt. According to the 1881 and 1891 censuses the Newman's lived in the High Street. I came to Kidlington last year but it was disappointing as like many village High Streets it has been overtaken by shops. I would appreciate any assistance or interest. I was born in Surrey in 1939 and have lived on Sussex coast all my adult life.. .
