(Parents of Michael = JAMES CURTIS & MARGARET SHEA) Michael and Sarah had one child in Ballyboy (MARY CURTIS - b.1839) before travelling to Australia where they went on to have another 12 children. Michael and Sarah were successful farmers in and around Ballarat Victoria and many of their children followed suit. Any details to further research would be welcome.

I am interested in Michael Sullivan, whom the Griffiths Valuation (1857) shows as lessee of land in Esker, County Galway. The plot is small, and it is likely that he worked in the town of Banagher, only a mile from the house across the Shannon bridge. His landlord was James C Harter of Manchester; his neighbours were Eliza Hart, Joseph Troad, Michael Curran, John Fechilly and James Dolan. He was I believe married to Anne Brennan, and father of Margaret baptised on 27 Oct. 1835 and Timothy born on 13 June 1847. If you have any knowledge of any of these people, please get in touch.

Mrs T Tyrrell was born Esther Carey, parents Andrew and Barbara, probably Kilbeggan, about 1820. She migrated with her husband to Australia in 1841. Anyone have info on the Judge and Carey families, or on Judge Villa House? Thanks.

Offaly, in particular on Patrick Loonam, his wife Maria Darcy of Clonaskra, who died in 1900, his daughters Mary Anne, Rose and Margaret, and his sons Patrick and John. John emigrated to the US and lived in New York with his wife Elizabeth and children Jackie and Betty. Patrick senior died in 1916 aged around 90. Donegan - I am interested in finding family of my Irish great grandmother Mary Donegan who was born 1844 in Edenderry, moved to Daingean (Philipstown) Offaly (King's County) and emigrated to Australia in 1858 to Queensland with Patrick and Celia Donegan who were not her parents. She married Hugh Graham from Antrim in Toowoomba in July 1969, had Alice 1869 and Frank 1872. Hugh disappeared (no records) then and Mary remarried in Sydney to Walter Albert McCombie in 1877. Mary's parents Thomas and Mary nee Tyrrell stayed in Daingean where he worked as a shoemaker followed by their son William. Mary had a brother Daniel who was a jeweller in Cork, a sister Susan born 1840 who married someone Keogh and emigrated to Australia and a sister Kathleen who emigrated to US. There were other siblings born in Edenderry and Daingean. Her daughter Lydia Laing nee McCombie is my grandmother.

I am looking for any info about the Brazil family that lived in Daingean. In the 1911 census John & Elila lived at home with 3 of their 9 children, 8 living in 1911. Thomas was the local Blacksmith, Patrick was also a blacksmith but went to the USA, Alice was only 16, but i know she came to England, Kate stayed in Daingean and married there. Margaret my Grandmother was 21 at the time and nowhere to be found, I know she came to England and Married my Grandfather but don't know when. I would like to know who the other children are and what happened to them, and what Elilas maiden name was.

My Great Grandmother, Catherine DELANEY (an orphan) came to Australia in 1856 to join her TIERNEY cousins in Sydney, and subsequently travelled as settlers to newly discovered arable land inland around Mudgee. It was in that area she married my G GF Richard CLARKE. Catherine's mother was Catherine (Kitty) CORMAC(K), and her father was Andrew DELANEY. According to records, My G GM Catherine was born or baptised 5 April 1835 at Dunkerrin. As far as I know, DELANEY and CORMAC were from around the area of North Tipperary, village of Bricane/Brickanagh, Parish District of Dunkerrin. Both Catherine's parents were deceased before she sailed for Australia c. 1855/56. I cannot find a record of Andrew and Catherine (Kitty's) marriage, or of their deaths. CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THE MISSING DETAILS. Thanks for reading. Colin

Rhode in Offaly Ireland is near Dublin. My grandparents were married at the RC church there in 1901. They had one child, my father, Thomas, who lost his dad, William ROGERS, when only three years old. So, William ROGERS died about 1905 at only about twenty nine years of age. How, where, who was there? And what do you know of my Gran, Mary Anne (nee) Murphy? When she lost her William, my dad was handed over to the Murphy's and was brought up by his Gran in Offaly. I am in Australia and need info for a story about them in the next issue of a Family Info Book featuring my grandparents; something to leave for future generations. We know my Gran married Martin HOGAN probably in Dublin about the 1920s. They, Martin and Mary Hogan had a son, Brian. Would be lovely to hear from you. Cheers Jim and Cathy.
