Looking for anyone who has any connections to the JAMES family from Sutton Bonington. I have traced back to my 4th Great Grandparents Thomas and Ann JAMES. Thomas was born in 1799 and died 1883 in Sutton Bonington. They had a number of children including my 3rd Great Grandfather Edward JAMES 1838-1905. He married Mary Ann DOUGHTY in 1858 at St Michael's Church, Sutton Bonington. I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who has a link to the JAMES, DOUGHTY or TONGUE family.

Looking for information on the antecedents of Rev. John Savage and his son Thomas, both of whom were Rectors at Sutton Bonington. John was born about 1557, and Thomas in 1595.

Mary Blood was born bef 30 March 1800 in Wysall and died 5 March 1870 in Sutton Bonington. She married Thomas Whitby on 2 Feb. 1818 in St. Anne Church in Sutton Bonington. He was the son of William Whitby and Lydia Sarson. See also Wysall.

Researching the history of the family of JOHN HENSON, who married MARY SHEPHERD at Normanton On Soar in 1814. They made Sutton Bonington the married home where numerous children were baptised at St Michael's Church. The family are resident at SuttonBonington in the 1841 census but cannot be found in the 1851 census. The couple's daughter, Selina HENSON, born in 1830, was resident in Loughborough by 1849 and married Joseph BAYLISS at Loughborough in the early 1850s. Selina & Joseph would later emigrate to America, but Selina and her children had returned to live at Nottingham by the time of the 1881 census, where Selina is now married to a Thomas SHARPE. Any information about any part of this family would be greatly appreciated.
