Walker Johnson marriage 1806
I have ancestors who married in Gringley in 1806 - they were John Walker and Elizabeth Johnson. I believe he was local to Gringley but she came from Beckingham. Both seem to have died in Gringley. Can anyone shed any light on these families? Helen
red mail Gringley on the Hill History
In 2010 we launched a Gringley History Club and now have 24 members and a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and a developing website. I am the treasurer and webmaster. I am now building a detailed databank of information on the village and its history, from ancient times to the present day, prior to publishing our first book in 2012. I welcome ANY information on the village and its history, and we are capable of scanning and returning historical documents and photos, and everything is acknowledged. We are also pleased to share our knowledge whenever we can. Alan
