Hi. I am desperate to find out more information regarding a Sarah Snowdin, born about 1793 in Edwinstowe, especially her ancestors. I know that she married George Dronfield in 1814 in Edwinstowe, and was also probably recorded as living in Warsop Cottage in the 1841 census. Can anyone help? Regards, Paul
red mail Pawson/Paulson Family
I am looking for any information about the Pawson/Paulson family living in Edwinstowe before the 19th century. I know that Thomas Pawson married Mary Taylor in 1713 but I believe that his father Charles, and many Pawsons before that were living in the village and in nearby Clipstone.

red mail EDWINSTOWE TUDSBURYS
The marriage of Richard Tudsbury to Mary Mellers in 1627 and his scond marriage to Sarah Farnsworth in 1657 produced 2 main family bloodlines in the village of Edwinstowe. Some offshoot marriages occured in surrounding locations, namely Perlthorpe,Ollerton,East and West Retford,Worksop,Sutton in ashfield, and these areas should be searched. The name Tudsbury stayed on as a direct line from these 2 marriages well into the 20th century in Edwinstowe, culminating in the family of talented and unmarried siblings Richard (b.1840),William (b.1843),Annie(b.1851),Frederick (b.1854) and Walter Albert (b.1858)- a family descended from generations of master carpenters, they excelled in wood carving, gaining commissions from Edward VII ,exhibiting in the 1851 great exhibition and in Paris in 1870- watercolours of sherwood Forest(Walter)were produced in abundance and they designed and built from scratch(,making all the parts ) a steam engine.Annie died in 1936.
