George GRAHAM was a long distance runner and held the Northern Counties Championship in 1877,1878 and 1879. He was born in Newcastle-on-Tyne in about 1857 or 1858. He emigrated to Australia in about 1882. I am seeking information about his family, birth date and birthplace and the Championships. Until recently I thought he may have been George Bowman GRAHAM, born in Gateshead in 1857 but have now discounted that possibility.

could anyone help me to find some information on some family members please names PATRICK MURPHY@ MARY MURPHY(nee HOOLOHAN/Hoolhan) They had 3 children but can only find Ellen Murphy(born 1841) There was a son named John Murphy also. The family emigrated to New Zealand in 1847,aboard the ship 'Clifton. Patrick was a fencible . From Calendar of Cecil Papers Vol 1 page 311 1564/11/22 The Bishop of Durham to Privy Council. In accordance with the instructions conveyed to him by their Lordships' letters of the 17th ult.has conferred with Sir John Foster and others respecting the justices of the peace within his diocese,and has embodied their opinions in the schedule hereto annexed. There are 2 things in his opinion which area great hindrance to religion.One is "the Scottish priests that are fledde out of Scotland for their wickdness and here be hyred in parisshes on the boders bicause they take less wages than others,and do more harme than others wolde or colde in disswading the peple" The other is "the grete number of scholars borne hereaboute,nowe lieng at Lovan without lycense,and sending in bokes and letters which cause many tymes evill rumors to be spredde,and disquiet the peple.They be mayntened by the hospitals of the Newcastell and the welthiest of that towne and this shire as it is judged and be their next cousins. Sudden, Aitchison, Foster
Thomas Sudden married Jane Aitchison, probably in Northumberland about 1830. Thomas was the son of Robert Sudden and Elizabeth Foster who married about 1794 in the Borders area. These people and many of their Family emigrated to North Dumfries, Waterloo County, Ontario in the 1830's. The Northumberland Parish of Ford and the Roxburgshire Parish of Smailholm seem to be the favourite guesses of their genesis. Any information on these families will be appreciated.
