red mail I am looking for local doctor for Wylam in 1950's
My aunty Nancy was a young nurse looking after the local GP's two daughters one who was callled Esme. This was around the 1950's. After she left the docgors service one of the doctors children died. I would like to know her name and if there are any photos. Thanks.
Further to a previous enquiry, can anyone help me with details of a John Blakeburn, (sometimes comes out as Blackburn ) and his marriage to a Rose/Rosanna/Rosamund Murphy. They lived in Wylam and had 5 children between 1803 and 1813, but I understand that there was a child born before 1803, and there seems to be a big gap between 1813 and my ancestor Thomas Blakeburn, who was christened in 1826. On Freereg. Rose is shown as born Downpatrick, N. Ireland and would be appx 1784. John B. was chrstnd 1774 in Ovingham, or so I believe, son of Robert and Mary. I have come across a marriage in 1800 in Whitehaven, Cumberland, but can't really substantiate any links. Anyone out there got any ideas or information please?? Thank you
Looking for anyone with background to Thomas Blackburn, born apprx 1823/1825 in Wylam. I think I've traced him in most of the census, but I'm a little uncertain about his parents and siblings....parents snown as John and Rosanna, born and married in Cumberland. Can anyone confirm that these are correct please, or have you anything different?? I know that Thomas was a miner and that he later went on to lodge at the home of an Elizabeth Davison, who I understood that he married, but I have been put onto a marriage with an Elizabeth Bell... something not quite right here!! Any help appreciated, Thanks. Thanks .
