red mail Henry Atkinson
Seeking information regarding Henry Atkinson, a native of Northumberland, living in the neighbourhood of Hartburn. He was a fiddle player and compiler of tunes in manuscript form. One manuscript dates from 1694. It is possible he was resident in Kington near Thornbury, Gloucestershire sometime around 1736 when he may have dedicated a music manuscript to John & Mary Thurston as a wedding present. Any information would be most welcome.
