Margaret Y RITSON
I am trying to transcribe from 1871 census a birthplace name in Northumberland where a Margaret Y RITSON, b about 1846, wife of Thomas RITSON was born. In 1881 census her birthplace is given as Embleton. Does anyone know of a place in or around Embleton ending with nd. Unfortunately I cannot use Embleton in this situation - it has to be as is on the census. The census reference is RG10 5029 f51 p40 Schedule264 - 50 Alma Street Westoe Durham. Suggestions welcome

I have found christenings of TWEEDYs in Embleton dating from 1779 - 1792. Father: Jacob Tweedy, mother: Ann. I don't know how I can find out if the son Joseph (christened 1779) is the Joseph that I am related to who married ANN CARR (in Longbenton in 1794). (Either he is too young to be him or he was christened late . . .) Any ideas???
