red mail Henry Smith & George Richardson Families
Henry Smith was a husbandman. His wife, Mary, was daughter to Isaac Hunter, a stone mason. His sons were also masons and two of Henry Smith's sons, Isaac and William (a twin) followed that calling. Henry (Jr), the other twin followed his father's work with horses. Though, later on, Isaac and his sons, worked with the coal mine, hauling coal with their wagon and the youngest son drove the cart. The oldest daughter of Henry Smith, named Jane Anne, married George Richardson. After the 1861 census showing them living near both of their families, there isn't another mention of Jane Anne and George. The youngest daughter of Henry Smith, Esther, married Nicholas Carr, and in 1881, moved to America. On the census, Esther has never had any children. George Richardson died in 1873 or 1875 and is buried in the Bothal Churchyard. Nicholas Carr was buried in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania (USA), but Esther's plot next to him was sold to someone else. There is no further information on Esther. George and Jane Anne seem to have had at least two sons, Thomas (1861-1927) and Henry (1864-).
