Looking for information on the above family. i am part of a group called the Friends of Jesmond Old Cemetery, we are trying to clean and restore it back to its original state. While clearing some graves I have come accross a few graves belonging to the Liddell family from Benwell Hall Benwell and Longbenton. I am searching for information of John Lunn, I believe he taught at St Cuthberts school in Benwell around 1983. He has a grandson called Alexander C Lunn who's father is I believe called Simon, John Lunn's son. Johns uncle died in 1972 and Stan maybe another uncle died seven years previous. There was a Winnie and Lily in Bellingham. John's parents lived in Fergusons Lane Benwell. Last communication was 1984 with my mother now deceased. And he was then living in Westacres Crescent. My mother was Doris Burn who's mother was a Lunn. Any help would be gratefully received. Maureen

Joseph Carr, Minerva Villa
My g.g.g.grandfather, Joseph Carr, lived in Minerva Villa, Benwell, shortly before his death in 1865; it was sold very soon after. Does anyone have any pictures of Minerva Villa, or know anything about it? I assume it no longer exists. Any information would be appreciated.

I am looking for any information on John Stanton of Benwell who married Margaret Harrison, daughter of Cornelius Harrison of Stubb House, Co. Durham. Margaret was born in Bowes 1770 (or 1776), John was born in Bishopwearmouth 1765. I would particularly like to find their marriage.

I am looking for information on my family who lived in Benwell, Newcastle. My great grandfather was Matthew Brown Stoddart and I believe he may have married an Elizabeth Brown. They had six children, Matthew Brown (named after his father) born around1903, Kathleen, born around 1904 and Norah, born around 1908.They also had triplets who died soon after birth and were named, I believe, Emily, Sarah Jane and Philip. Norah married James Gibbons and had two sons, one of whom is my father. I believeKathleen married, emigrated to America and has at least two daughters. Any information on them would be much appreciated as I have no family to ask anymore.
