Pryor Family of Northampton
My grandfather Joseph Charles PRYOR was born at 5 Devonshire Street, Duston in 1872. By the turn of the century he was the licensee of the BOOT INN, College street, then later the licence was transferred to the CLINTON ARMS, Northampton where he and his wife Ada (née MARGETTS) brought up their family, Doris Florence, Evelyn Victoria, Arthur Charles and my father Ernest Reginald. Joseph Charles (known as Charles) was a noted racing cyclist in the 1890's. After he retired he lived at 45A Bostock Avenue. I should love to hear from anyone who knew of the family or could give me information about the two public houses mentioned, or about Joseph Charles's cycling career.
