My gggrandfather, Joseph Lamb, was an innkeeper and the name of the inn was Queens Head on High Street in Higham Ferrers circa 1840-1880. My 4th Great Grandfather was Fields Carter born approx. 1772 Higham Ferrers. He married Elizabeth Miller from Rushden. I know of two children, Ann Carter born approx. 1800 and my 3rd Great Grandfather Green Carter. Green was born 1794, Rushden, he was christened 1799. He died in 1873 in the Wellingborough District. He married Elizabeth Brooks September 22, 1822 in Newton Bromswald. I believe Green and Elizabeth had 9 children: William b 1826, John b 1828, Charles b 1831, Fields, b 1834, Sarah b 1836, Ann b 1839, Green, b 1841, Joseph b 1843, Elizabeth b 1844. My 2nd Great Grandfather Charles Carter married Sarah Ellen Craddock Aug 4 1850. I am interested in tracing generations further back and to make contact with current descendants of these families. I would be happy to learn and share information on these families. As Fields and Green seem to be unusual first names I am hoping someone will be able to share if these names came from previous surnames. My great grandmother was Anna Marie Carter b 1853 d 1936 and she married William Luck b 1848 Bozeat d 1920 Irchester. They are buried at St. Katherine's in Irchester.
