red mail Greenland Fox
Would like to know the origin of this first name - Greenland. He was born 1850, son of George Fox b1818 and Elizabeth Kemp b1828 in Sporle. The family moved to West Durham after 1851. Greenland died 1876. I believe his cousin, born 1878 - my great uncle - was named Greenland after him. He was son of Robert Fox, b 1842 Sporle. Interested to find origin of name 'Greenland' David

red mail CHILVERS
I am researching family from Sporle. THOMAS CHILVERS married MARY COE who died soon after, then BRIDGET TOOK. BRIDGET'S parents were JOHN TOOK and CALLOW CODDLING. My great Grandmother was CALLOW CHILVERS born 1833. She had a daughter HARRIET PONDER/CHILVERS born about 1851 but I cannot find a birth registration for her. I believe her father was named WILLIAM PONDER. Did MARY COE die in childbirth? There was possibly a son, GEORGE CHILVERS, Grandson living with JOHN TOOK on the 1841 census. Can anyone help resolve these questions?
