I am looking for information on the forebears of Richard Webb b. 4.3.1795 at Norwich England. He was baptised at St Julians church 15.3.1795. His parents were Richard & Mary(nee Frost). Richard Webb was transported to Parramatta Australia in 1813, later to become a successful timber merchant & land devloper. Richard Snr. and Mary were buried in the St Julians graveyard. William DARBY alias Pablo FANQUE 1796 Norwich
My great great grandfather, William Darby, son/ John DARBY and Mary STAMPS, 1810 Norwich, mr Elizabeth CORKER, dau/ George CORKER and Martha ?. William was a circus performer and eventually became a circus owner under the alias of Pablo FANQUE. In that capacity he travelled all over England and Scotland. Many posters advertising his circus and performances have survived. One poster in particular became famous as it was found in a book store by the Beetles who wrote a song about Pablo and his circus entitled "For the benefit of Mr. Kite" and it appeared on their Sgt. Peppers album. Their son, Edward Charles DARBY, bn 1855 in Manchester Lan. also became a circus performer and fought a lot of matches as a boxer. He later adopted "PABLO" as a second name and many of his children took it as their surname. In 1875 Edward mr Jane Elizabeth ANDERSON (also a circus performer), dau/ Robert Anderson and Catherine BENT, in 1875, in Edinburgh Scotland. Their son, William George DARBY was born in 1877, I believe in Bamburgh Nthmb. He married Louvina LOCKHOFF, dau/ Charles Lockhoff and Friedericka TILKER, in 1907, in Toronto Ontario Canada. They were my grandparents. I would be delighted to hear from anyone with any knowledge of the above.

looking for info n a Henry Durrant , born 1839 in norwich , son of John and Mary , listed as being married on the 1871 census to a Elizabeth ?has a family with her then he moves on to Elizabeth Raby , he is on the 1881 census with her and a new family , but they are not married , they have a son , called George Christmas , who is my grandfather , born 1886, would like to know when he married the Elizabeth listed as his wife , also having problems in finding a death for Henry ! any help would be wonderful thanks Janet.

We have traced back our family locally to 1810 with Thomas Henry Luckett. The family appear to have moved into the area from the Kent -Oxford area were the name seems reasonably common.

My grandmother was Annie Delilah Patrick, her parents ran a pub in Norwich in the mid - late 1800's. She married Ben James in 1915 and had 4 children.

William Bertie Curtis, born 1876 Railway Cottages, Thorpe Hamlet to a Louisa Curtis. Lousia unmarried at time of her son's birth, and it is believed William's father may have be her employer. Lousia (b1854) was one of 9 or 10 children, her parents were James Curtis (b1813) and Ann Mitchell (b1819). James was a railway employee in the late 1800's in Norwich Welcome any info on this branch of the CURTIS family, and also the Mitchells. I am aware that quite often James and Ann took in their grandchildren.
