John was a publican of the Royal Exchange in Julian Street (Heigham Parish) for many years. Daughter Mary Ann (1839) married George Noller (1840 St. Martin at Oak), Dec 1862 & later moved to Kent – they are my GG G’parents. Family names: Noller, Cubitt, Goose, Phillips. I am looking for the parents and then their ancestors of William Gage, who was born in Norwich, King Street in 1826, by 1850, he was living at Little Ellingham, where he fathered a son by his lodger Maria Hall(s), b. Feb 1831 and d. Sep 1913 at Sculcoates, Hull, East Yorks, where she an her family where then living. William d. at the same place Dec. 1898. The son he earlier fathered was fist known by his mothers name of Halls (William), but by 186 he was being called William Gage. It is belived that William b. 1826, eventually married Maria as she is later refered to as his wife, possibly ca. 1851. The only thing I know about William in Norwich is that he was possibly domiciled in the St Giles area.

Maud Harriet Hardy (née Forbes)
Searching for any relatives of Maud Harriet Hardy (née Forbes) who was born in 1883 and was one of the children of Alfred James and Mary Jane Forbes who emigrated to Canada in 1906 with two of their children. Maud married Maurice Hardy and lived in Norwich in about the 1930’s. They had at least three daughters, Doris, Edna and Peggy. Edna married a Mr. Alexander and they had at least two children Ann(e) and Roger. They lived on a farm in Little Wratting near Haverhill Suffolk during WWII. The farm employed Italian prisoners of war it is said. Any information, for family history puposes would be appreciated.

In 1851 Census Sarah was a housemaid at Castle Hotel, Richmond, Surrey and in 1855 was a servant in Tetsworth,Oxfordshire when she married Stephen Quartermaine. Her father was named as James Newman, carpenter. In 1861 Census Mary Elizabeth was a cook at Oak Lodge, Clapham, Surrey and was a servant in 1872 when she also married the same Stephen Quartermaine. For over 10 years I have been looking for Thomas North b 1762 abt. I have traced his family to South Africa, USA and found relatives living in Norwich today. However I can not find his birth and parents. I know he died 19 Jul 1830 St Clements. He married the 14 Nov 1789, Elizabeth Dawdry at St James Pockthorpe and raised 7 children. I can trace back to Robert Dunn, born c1702 in Norwich, then the trail becomes uncertain. My great grandmother, Jemima Dunn, born 1845, married Jonathan Jabez (or Jarvis) Howard, born 1842, in 1872. They moved to North Walsham where Jonathan Howard had maternal family connections, then to Bradford, W. Yorks in the 1880s, with their many daughters (my grandmother being Eliza, born 1875, died in the influenza epidemic, 1918) and son Jonathan Edward Theophilus, born 1882 (died of wounds received on the Somme, 1916). Anyone else researching the Dunns (and Howards)?

Fred(e)ric(k) John OBEE was born in Norwich, but boarded with Hannah HEWETT in Great Yarmouth from some time between 1861 and 1881. He is listed with his father Obadiah OBEE and family in the 1841, 1851 and 1861 censuses but has not been found in the 1871 census. In the 1881 census he is listed as a boarder and married, but no other details are known. He may have had a family and it would be great to find out.

Part of my Burdett family travelled around the UK and Ireland in the 1880/90's in connection with the father's work. Joseph Burdett (bc.1856 in Norwich, Norfolk) was an Electrical and Mechanical Draughtsman (possibly in the brewery industry) who married Alice Baker in 1881 in Kensington, Middx. They had at least three children: Harold Walter b.1885 in Kensington, Middx; Daisy P. born abt 1892 in Queenstown, Ireland (now Cobh, County Cork, Eire); and Allan J. born abt 1894 in Bournemouth, Hants. Last known address Burton-on-Trent at the time of the 1901 Census. I should be grateful for any further information or leads to any members of the family and their descendents. David.

George Harrison and Mary Jane Stourton were married 28 Dec 1886, Christ Church, St Marylbone, Middlesex. Four sons in family George and Robert were twins born 27 July 1898 in West Wymer Norwich, Norfolk. There are two more sons Alan Stourton born about 1894 and Herbert born about 1888. Alan served in the Royal Dublin Fusliers. Herbert went to USA prior to 1915. Any information about this family would be appreciated.

He traded as a wheelright/livery stables in Buckhurst Hill, later run by youngest son William (d.1915). I would like to find George's ancestors, but ww2 damage to records is limiting my chances. George claimed to have been born in St.Augustine's parish in Norwich. Anyone help?

I am searching for information on Charles Hare and his wife Eliza, maiden name unknown. They were both born in Norwich between 1823-1827. They were married in Norwich about 1846. I find them on the 1851-1891 census but I can't find his parents names or her maiden name. The census finds them in St. Lawrence, St. George of Colegate and St. Edmund. Charles & Eliza Hare were my Great Great Great Grandparents. Their daughter, Elizabeth, born (1849-25 Jul 1914)St. James married Albert James Dunn in 1867 in Norwich.
