My direct ancestor, above, for whom I would love to have detail that might be in parish records. He is said to have been born in Loddon. His father is said to have been James, a boot and Patten maker. Other than that I know nothing about his beginings. Can anyone help?

Joseph MALLET married Sarah ALCOCK in Norwich in 1734. They settled in Loddon and had 8 children there. Robert one of them (1741 to 1820) married 1st Mary BUTCHER (died 1791 in Loddon) and Sarah COOK (died 1820 in Lowestoft). One of their daughters Sarah (1764-1846) married Thomas BOYCE and she was one of John WESLEY's Methodist female preachers. Their son Joseph (1776-1843) married Ann COOK in London and moved to Hereford. Glad to share any information....Pat

I am looking for any information relating to Richard Boatwright, born about 1772, possibly in Loddon and his wife Maria Mann, born about 1772 in possibly Loddon or Bungay. Their son, James Boatwright (Carpenter), was born 1804 in Loddon but by 1841 was living in Norwich (Tompsons Yard then Sawyers Yard, Fishgate Street) with second wife Hannah Murrell (first wife Maria Burrell died 1834).

My great grandfather married a girl from Lodden in Norfolk. We only know she was called "Fanny" which is no help. Is there any way that local marriages in the area can be checked and is "Fanny" actually a proper name or a nickname. All help welcomed. UPDATE I now know that Fanny or Fannie was called Hannah or Frances and may have married in Brighton which is not a lot of help. Anyone know where Lodden is exactly. i.e. N or S of Norwich. Was it small in the 1900's and what is it like now? I now know that Fannie was Frances Davey. Born around 1830 but cannot locate her anywhere in that area. Any help there please.
