This Presbyterian family lived in the Castleblayney district in the 18th century and has been noted at the Skerrymore Townland five miles from Castleblayney. A Thomas Barber and his son Adam Barber moved to adjacent County Armagh and were farming there in the 1820s and later. This was Townland Tullyvallan near Newtownhamilton. I am interested in any information about these people and their relatives. I believe that Adam Barber had a sister Sarah in about 1800. Thomas Barber may have been married twice.

John Hamilton b 1823 Castleblaney m Sarah Jane Rainey from Annalittin, 1850 believed to have a small farm close to Castleblaney at Cavanaguillah. Following a separation John migrated to NZ where he set up businesses with his nephews Gilmer from Broomfield. Sarah Jane with 3 children went to live with her brother John Rainey a Presbyterian Minister. Later she lived with her daughter Sarah who married Alexander Burns at Newtownhamilton. Their son Samuel migrated to Melbourne and M Teresa O'hare from Newtownhamilton. I am interested in establishing any Irish connections. Peter

My grandfather and great-grandfather was born in Muckno, Castleblayney. Grandfather was born about 1856. Great-grandfather, I don't know his d of b. Anyone still in Castleblayney who know of this family, please contact me. Grandfather is buried in Belfast. He married a Louth lady and both lived in Belfast and died there. Grandfather died 1931 and Grandmother in 1960.

My Great x 2 grandparents John Rowland and Mary Johnston were born in Castleblayney, John in about 1804 and Mary in about 1811 They were married in Kilmore 08/09/1830. They moved to Belfast sometime after 1837 as three of their children were born there. They moved to England, Stepney, London sometime between 1842/45 where they had three more children in England.
