Florence gave her address as Onslow Road Richmond in 1943 and later may have lived on Richmond Hill, Richmond. My grandmothers name was Gertrude H. Brown and born Feb. 14th 1895 - 96 and have confirmed she passed away in Sussex area in 1983 at 87 years old. This area in Twickenham was one place where she may have met people and she traveled a fair amount. I am her grand-daughter and wish to post in the hope anyone might recall her. She was I believe married to a William Brown also born abt. 1885 (have no other information to date) due to that period of time/ and they had one daughter - also Gertrude/Trudy married 3 times as far as I know. William Richard moved to St Pancras and was baptised 1832 as an adult then married Esther Taylor Ayling in 1833. Died at 6 Manor Road Twickenham on 5 December 1956, wife of William Haig Hellyer retired Stage Manager. She had been married previously to Alfred Henry Oldham (stage name Albert Letine) and she had been in music hall with him. They had two children Katie Nellie my grandmother (born 1900)and Thomas Charles (born 1903) but she split from him soon after. She had Florence, Lionel and Harry by William Haig Hellyer whom I believe was from Jersey.

I have a lot of information prior to this date including the 1901 census which shows her living at 3 Katherine Road Twickenham with her parents Arthur and Sarah Hubbard. I cannot find any more records after the 1901 census and she is not recorded on the 1911 census. The only clue I have is that she was brought up by the Thames family who were living at the same address in 1901.

Looking for this couple in the 1871 census. They were married in T. on 27 June, 1870 and migrated to NZ the following year and so I'm guessing that they remained in T. area. John was born 1843 in Ugley, Essex and Julia born 1848 in Cranbrook, Kent. Thank-you for any help you can give. Would also love to know which church they were married in.

Robert Mayne MP and banker was declared bankrupt in 1782 and a sale was held at his Villa on the banks of the Thames at Twickenham. The lease was sold along with the elegant household furniture, chintz, dimity, feather beds etc. 16 Sep 1782. I would like to know more about this villa, its whereabouts, perhaps name etc. I got this information from a newspaper advert in Burney Collection of newspapers. William Gilham B. 1833 married Jessie Cathew b. 1885.Their marriage was June 1913 in Brentwood. Their daughter, Marjorie was born in Twickenham 23 dec. 1915, but I cannot find any records for her brother, Albert J.M. Gilham. They emigrated to Ontario, Canada where William died in 1916. Great Grandfather William Phelps married Kate Maney (b.1855) in Sept. 1882 in Staines - I think - Offspring were Alice b.1883; Alfred b.1886; Harry or Henry b.1888; Edward b.1889; George b.1891. I can trace Edward but have no information on the others. As far as I can make out Kate died in June 1907 and William may well have married again, possibly in Oct - Dec 1909 to a Beck or a Turner but this is guesswork. The district would probably have been Brentford. The children's birth district was Wandsworth with an address in the 1901 census of Braxton or Braxted Road, Streatham. Edward married Kathleen Nash 26.12.15 and was living in Gould Road, Twickenham at the time. Kathleen lived in Gravel Road, Twickenham. I would like to find out more on what happened to Edward's sister and brothers. Living members of Edward's line of the family cannot (or possibly don't want to) remember any details. Possibly the 2nd wife was not accepted in some way and this may have caused a rift in the family.

Does anyone have any information on Job Jordan (b 1844 in Dorchester Oxfordshire) and his wife Ann (b abt 1841 in St Germaine, Norfolk) and their daughter Florance A Jordan (b 1880. Job seems to be lodging in Twickenham with the Madge family and the 1891 and 1901 census also record him in at first cross road in Twickenham. I am puzzled that in 1901 a Florence A Jordan is shown in the census as living in as a servant in Thames Ditton but although her birth is the same 1880 it says she was born in Kingston. Could this be he same Florence A jordan? Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks.

I am seeking any genealogy information regarding my g-g-grandparents Joseph Gordon and Eliza Maria Barber. At the birth of my g-grandfather Jesse Barber Gordon on 02-18-1849, they gave their address as 19 Montpelier Row in Twickenham. Jesse emigrated sometime prior to his first marriage in 1874 to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I have not found any records of Jesse's parents other than the information contained on Jesse's birth record. A Twickenham tax record of 1850 indicates that a Sidney Jane Barber was living at the Montpelier Row address. Sidney Jane is believed to have been a sister of Jesse's mother, Eliza Maria Barber. Any assistance would be welcome and greatly appreciated. Suggestions regarding the locating of genealogy information would also be welcome.
